Khatawa for teachers and mosque programs
Khatawa is a free, nonprofit tool for learning to pray. It is built to be used one-to-one, but it also works well for teachers, weekend schools, reverts’ programs and parents teaching at home. There is nothing to install and no account to create.
Why it works in a classroom
- No sign-up, no cost — open it in any browser and start; nothing is locked behind a login or payment.
- See the words clearly — Arabic, transliteration and English meaning, with text that resizes to fill the screen for a projector or a shared device.
- Learn by doing — a guided figure walks through each posture, and the recitation can play aloud for the whole group to follow.
- Go at the group’s pace — switch to Manual to move step by step as you explain, or use Auto at a Slow, Normal or Fast pace.
- Works on any device — phones, tablets, a classroom screen or a smartboard.
Ways to use it
- Project the guided prayer and have students follow the postures together.
- Teach Wudu step by step before a practical session.
- Introduce new Muslims to their first prayer without assuming any prior vocabulary.
- Use the Qur’an reader to practise short surahs with recitation and word-by-word reading.
Share a specific lesson
Because Khatawa runs on the open web, you can share a plain link with students, parents or a class group — no app download required. (Deep links to individual lessons are on the roadmap; for now, share the main link and point learners to the lesson they need.)
